Learn about your teacher – Emily Altneu ‘Pilates is everything’

The beauty of classes at Grove Pilates is they are small bespoke classes so we really get to know you, your needs and what will help you benefit the most from a Pilates practice.  So it’s nice for you to know a little more about your teachers.  

– Emily Altneu – teaches both mat and reformer Pilates.

Emily has been teaching now for 10 years, after training in Musical Theatre. And she’s been practicing Pilates herself for over fifteen years. Pilates for her has been partly regenerative and partly preventive.  Not to sound too cliché but to her it is all about enjoying a long, happy and healthy and fit life. She continues her training with a master teacher from The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado. The Pilates Center have a direct link to Romana Kryzanowska, who was Joseph Pilates’ protégé. Emily is also a personal trainer and barre teacher and specialises in pre and post natal fitness.

– How she can help you with Pilates-

Emily is passionate about teaching Pilates to improve your whole body strength and flexibility whilst maintaining optimum alignment and muscle length. To help with balance – concentration – coordination – posture –  core strength – muscle tone – flexibility.

“Pilates is wonderful for my well being. In short it’s everything! I believe pilates is for every fitness level, both men and women, and all ages. My oldest client is currently 83 and it brings me so much joy to teach her. It takes discipline and focus to venture in to the world but I think it’s worth it. You’ll reap the benefits”
